Showmanship Clinics
I started raising market lambs in 4-H when I was 11 years old. When I was 13, I won my first showmanship ribbon (7th place) out of a class of about 30 (and for a 13 year old, thats pretty exciting). The next year started my FFA show career and I won reserve champion Dorset. In the 4 years I showed FFA market lambs, I had 5 champions at our county fair, 4 dorsets and a hamp. I was always in the top 5 of my showmanship classes and my last year I was 2nd in my class out of 35 people. I won my class at the California State Fair showmanship with my Montadale ram Sammi that same year.

I believe doing things right the first time, and not taking short cuts. It's way easier to do it the long way and than to break bad habits learned from doing it half right. If you want your lamb to do well, the first step is making him look good. Anyone can make a great lamb look "not so great", but a great showman can make a "not so great" lamb look like a champion (by hiding his natural faults of course).
